This is the news.
Now let me explain why this means so much to me.

First, this is the former leader of pop group 2PM, Park Jaebeom.

Second, the following series of events took place over the 4 days, starting on September 4th. It's like a Shakespearean tragedy, it happened so fast!

In short, due to a set of MySpace comments Jaebeom left in 2005, Korean netizens have jumped the gun and not only given this band leader harsh criticism for the comments, but have come together and demanded he cease all human existence. Because of the netizen reaction, all of 2PM's activities have been canceled, and even after issuing an official apology for the comments, he's chosen to resign his position in the band and has since left both the company and the country.

I. feel. awful.

I love this band. I follow their music, their performances, their silly variety shows. Not once did I get negative connotations from any of the members, especially from Jaebeom. I observe his past actions as just that - past actions. And I can forgive him for them. The fact that Korean netizens are that sensitive about 3 little words just...it irritates me. And the fact that they can end his career just plain scares me. There's a lot more in this I want to explore, but for now, I'd rather reflect on it before writing anything else.
